I'm excited to have my 'off-shore' developer in the office this week.
These in-person sessions are so important for establishing our corporate culture.
We started the week by discussing the new Meetify feature where you can create an ongoing booking link like Calendly - but with location options. Honestly, his code needs careful review, but he's always positive about receiving constructive criticism.
CEO's Diary, Dec. 17th
Today, I’m coaching my “off-shore” co-worker on leadership. He’s fully focused and totally sleighing it as we dive into those honest, courageous conversations.
We’ve already planned our next training session—using Meetify, of course—and taking full advantage of our new Google Calendar Sync feature, which ensured we were both available and seamlessly added the event to our calendars.
More updates soon—if my teammate doesn’t get too wrapped up in personal growth.
CEO's Diary, Dec. 18th
Nothing beats some quality time around the office coffee pot, where great conversations brew and relationships percolate. Today, my “off-shore” teammate and I chatted about our favorite spots in town to get over-caffeinated and grab a holiday treat. Turns out, he has some VERY strong opinions about gingerbread men.
It was great to get his recommendations, and I made sure to bookmark those spots in my convenient Meetify ‘favorites’ list so I can quickly schedule meetups there in the future.
Stay tuned—we’re brewing up another pot, and he’s got a latte more to say.
CEO's Diary, Dec. 19th
Year-end goal setting is critical for driving corporate success. Today, my “off-shore” teammate and I are doing a deep dive into KPIs, strategic initiatives, and his ambitious stretch goal of coding an entire sprint while wearing mittens (for cleaner code).
We’re also taking a moment to celebrate 2024’s big wins—like our 24% YOY growth in developer coffee consumption and the completely redesigned Meetify wizard, which makes scheduling meetups faster than Rudolph on Christmas Eve.
Sadly, he flies home tomorrow, but stay tuned as there’s time for one last update before he sleighs away.
CEO's Diary, Dec. 19th
The wild office Christmas party did not disappoint this year! My “off-shore” teammate went a little overboard on the eggnog before delivering a VERY spirited karaoke rendition of Mariah Carey. The high notes? Unforgettable.
He made up for it during the Secret Santa gift exchange (and no, we didn’t reveal who we had). His gift—a vertical mouse—was both thoughtful and a clear nod to his strong feelings about ergonomics.
The real highlight of the year, though, was sharing the celebration with him. Over cocoa, we laughed about all the times Meetify’s text message reminders saved our meetups with friends, co-workers, and reindeer. It truly is the gift that keeps on giving.
